Ameen! I know Greentech have good intentions, but it is really off-putting. If this feature makes me delete the app, then what is the benefit? If they make streak optional then I might reinstate my subscription in sha Allah.
surya09 Couldn't agree more. I used to open the app very frequently and now that it keeps annoying me with "restore your streak" I simply don't even open the app anymore. Because it feels like the only purpose I have is to maintain the streak and not reading the Quran.
Wa ‘Alaikumus Salam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh, JazakAllahu Khairan for your heartfelt Du'a and for being a valuable part of our journey. We will forward your request to our team for review, Insha'Allah. Please remember to share our apps with your friends and family, and in doing so, be a part of Sadaqah Jariyah. You can also explore our other apps (Al Quran, Sadiq, Hadith, Dua & Zikr, etc.) at the link below: https://gtaf.org/apps/
Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. I found the streak feature useful in developing the habit of reading Quran with meaning every day. Now that I am habitual, I am indifferent to the streak. However, I do refer it occasionally and it can be beneficial to many others just the way i found it useful. So, request you to retain it as an optional feature in an unintrusive way (e.g. without pop-up).
Salam alaikun warahmatulai wabarakatu, I came here to talk about hiding streaks too, Thank you. May Allah make it easy for us all and accept our acts of ibadah
Totally agree. I don't need the streak features
My listening time more but the app is not updating beyond 2 minutes...even after listening for 20 minutes
I'm reading at least surah fathiha or ayathul kursi to maintain streak but it many time divert the purpose and intentions a option for hiding this is big move they are Snapchat people considering we are gaining popular n proud to be have more streak, Im advice is to remove the streak and just give as replace the streak numbers with how many minutes we read it like that
But yes the Streak feature would improve the app if gone Jazakallah khair
24t-amoustafa I would say that some people like like the streak feature. So it probably is beter to be able to just disable the feature.
It hasnt been giving me streak notifications anymore though
Agree. Gamifying is a fun option for those who enjoy it. E.g. kids. Could set an option to enable gamification. It is encouraging to see the streak sometimes. Though I would prefer to not have it in my awareness so often. Great to encourage newbies I suppose
Streaks are fine, just NO POP UP PLEASE. There should be nothing extra getting in the way of accessing the Qur’an. Maybe make a dedicated section that people can *choose* to click on to see their stats and streak info and reminders. I love streaks and stats and think it’s a great motivator and reminder, but it is so annoying having something extra pop up, that I have to get rid of first when I just want to quickly start playing the Qur’an.
I don't entirely mind the streak system but what annoys me is "regain your streak" feature and the constant pop up about it when I open the app. If I missed a day then I missed a day there's nothing in between. There should be a system in place that lets us manually reset our streak and also the option to turn off the "regain your streak" and/or the entire streak system. I understand the intention behind the streak system is to keep users engaged with the Quran but this also makes it feel like a chore which is not how reading the Quran should be like. Jazakallahu Khairan.
Crazy how the streak thing is in progress but no the actual worrying mistakes and errors.
Trueeeeeeeeee
Also may Allah reward whoever is behind this app, it’s beautiful. I’ve never had any problems with it… it’s just a little annoying that there are streaks now and it’s less “clean”.
AsSalaamualaykum warahmatuallah wabarakatuh I think it's beneficial to me personally because it keeps me on my toes and I don't miss a day without reciting the Qur'an. If I miss a day without reciting and I look at the streak, I would feel sad and remorseful for wasting my day without reciting, hence I make Istighfar for my heedlessness. But if you don't have the streak and you miss a day, maybe the next day you would feel remorseful, but as the days pass, you forget and you might miss another day. The believers need to be constantly reminded. importance of consistency and building habits, especially when it comes to spiritual practices like reciting the Qur'an. Having a streak or a routine can be a great motivator, and it's relatable that missing a day can feel like a setback. Your approach is really insightful – by prioritizing daily recitation, you're creating a sense of accountability and mindfulness. It's like you're telling yourself, "I've come this far, I shouldn't break the streak!" And it's interesting how you mention that without a streak, it's easier to fall off track. The point about believers needing constant reminders is spot on. It's like the saying goes, "Out of sight, out of mind." When we're not consistently engaging with our faith, it's easy to get distracted or complacent. To me the only part I don't like is the sharing part "Remind, indeed Reminder benefits"
We are working on a solution for this, not exactly hiding. But a way to reduce it's prominence. Also, tweaking the reminders to focus more on Quran reading habit and intention. We will inform once it's live in the app in sha Allah
Araf Mohammad Mahbub Alhamdulillah, Thank you very much. Jazakumullahu khairan
Araf Mohammad Mahbub Barakallahufik thank you for the update.
Araf Mohammad Mahbub Please note reducing is not the solution. We want option to switch it on or off as per reader convenience. Can't understand why you are emphasizing on reducing only. Hope you will understand our problem and accommodate our request. May Allah give you the best reward. Thanks & JzakumAllah
Assalamu aleykum, I would like to disable it as well, I find it sad that this kind of "fear of missing out" inducing features are being forced on all users. I fear that this beautiful app slowly follows the same track as Muslim Pro, turning from a beautiful, intuitive Quran reading app into an ambitious platform filled with unneeded features, popups, notifications and calls to subscribe. A 5th feature tab has been added today to the main nav bar here (while all I need is the first one), and I got 3 popups before I reached the surah I wanted. May Allah reward the app creators for this Quran with word-by-word translation, as it certainly helped me and many Muslims to learn much more easily than without. May it remain pleasant to use for as long as possible.
Assalaam alaikum! I also want to request for an option to disable streak if required. For some of us its distracting and an irritating reminder for those who quit or didn't like Duolingo. Baarakallah feekum. Other than that the app is great and perfect.
Same here.
Same problem 😞
Agreed totally
Yes please do this. Works for some, I have different reasons, but same request. JazakAllahu khair
please add an option to hide or switch off "current streak"
It's an option,a reminder,use it, ignore it , bypass it.take it easy.no big deal.
