Subject: Request: Add Tafheemul Quran (Bangla) as a tafsir in Al Quran app – database file ready
Assalamu alaikum Greentech team,
I am a regular user of your Al Quran (Tafsir & by Word) app. Thank you for the great work.
The app currently has only one built-in tafsir (Ibn Kathir, English). Many Bangla-speaking users would benefit from Tafheemul Quran by Sayyid Abul A'la Maududi in Bangla. So I prepared the tafsir data in exactly the same format as your kathir.db, so that it can be added with minimal effort on your side. I used an AI assistant (Claude) to help with the conversion.
About the file (tafheem.db, attached):
- Same structure as kathir.db: CREATE VIRTUAL TABLE verses USING fts4(sura int, ayah int, text text)
- 6,236 rows, one per ayah, in Quran order
- Text is UTF-8 Bangla with light HTML (h1/h2/b) and line breaks, like kathir.db
- Each ayah contains the Tafheem footnotes (tika) referenced in that ayah's translation; ayah 1 of each surah also includes Maududi's introduction to the surah
- 2,136 ayat have no footnote in the original source; they contain one placeholder line, which you can hide or remove if you prefer
I have also included a short README and three extra text files (general introduction, concluding remarks, and an appendix on Surah Al-Ahzab) in case you want to use them in the future.
I am not asking for any change to your app beyond what you think is suitable. If you are able to add it as an additional tafsir (for example in Bangla), I would be happy to help with any corrections or format changes you need.
