Hadith number order mixed up issue:
Hadith number order has mixed up in the Sahih Muslim only from the famous six hadith books and it’s just a system used here to connect relevant ahadith of a particular meaning in an one total number.
This is not mistaken actually, but it's a kind of narration chain rule used by Imam Muslim in his sahih Muslim. We can see it in many chapters of the Sahih Muslim.
He has narrated a related hadith separately in the multiple relevant chapters, after that when the Ulama of hadith (Allama Fuad abdul Baqi etc.) was going to Numbering the whole Ahadith of Sahih Muslim....they numbered it (total numbers) in this way. I mean: A particular number has been given for all related Ahadith to that meaning & narrator, although those are narrated in the multiple chapters.
So, multiple relevant ahadith with one similar number was showing in the multiple chapters as well.
Now, we can see the 1202 no hadith with its same-similar meaning in the following four separate chapters:
1-
Sahih Muslim » The Book of Pilgrimage - كتاب الحج

Conclusion:
Imam Muslim was narrated 2208, 1202d, 1577d & 2209 in the ‘Chapter: For Every Disease There Is A Remedy, And It Is Recommended To Treat Disease’
And each of these ahadith belongs to the chapter and related with the treatment issue. So, the connection between these hadiths is clear here, but we faced the hadith order problem.
All of the four ahadith of 1202 number was narrated by Ibn 'Abbas, so the Ulama of hadith added these four to an individual number as the 1202 no hadith. Because this Hijama issue has been narrated from Ibn 'Abbas in these four ways in the Sahih muslim. So they numbered 1202 to all similar narrations of Hijama by Ibn 'Abbas.
Also, All of the four ahadith of 1577 number was narrated by Anas b. Malik.
so the Ulama of hadith added these four to an individual number. Because this similar context (Hijama issue) has been narrated from Anas b. Malik in these four ways in the Sahih muslim. So they numbered 1577 to all similar narrations of Hijama by Anas b. Malik.
And added a,b,c,d etc with the number to avoid confusion.
Hope, you can understand now brother.
Jazakallah Khairan.
